Shire-wide road asset management
A Microsoft Access asset database integrated with MapInfo that held a whole shire road network as asset information, for spatial display, analysis and asset management across the network.
The work
Each road in the shire network was held as an asset record in an Access database and connected to MapInfo for spatial display and analysis, giving the shire network-level road asset information.
Council GIS work of the same period also includes a GIS mapping system that tracked infrastructure condition, planned maintenance programmes and optimised resource allocation, and spatial mapping for a new rural addressing system.
